DIY Pearl Bobby Pins

DIY Pearl Booby Pins

What you need:

a) Bobby Pins
b) Pearl looking beads
c) Clear fishing thread or stretchy string
d) Scissors

Cut a piece of string and tie the bead to the bobby pin as shown in the picture below.

In order to make sure the bead is secured to the bobby pin make multiple knots and another optional step is to cover the knot with clear nail polish to prevent the knot from loosening.

Then cut off the extra string.

These "fancy" booby pins can be put in you hair like below for special occasions or just to spice up a hairdo. (P.S. sorry for the terrible picture of my hair below but my hair is in a braided bun with the bobby pins stuck into it for decoration.)

Manicure Monday - Newspaper Nails

News Paper Nails

This look is supposed to look like you have writing/newspaper on your nail.

You will need:
a) White nail polish (I used Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme wear)
b) Newspaper
c) Rubbing alcohol
d) Q-tips.
Steps:

1. Paint your nails white

2. Let it dry completely, if it is not completely dry the next step will not work.

3. Cut the newspaper into small pieces that are slightly bigger than your finger nail.

4. Take a q-tip and dip it into the rubbing alcohol.

5. Rub the alcohol on to your nail.

6. Place a piece of the newspaper on your nail and wet with more alcohol.

7. Let sit for a couple seconds, then remove the paper.

8. Repeat on every nail then apply a clear coat once nails are dry.

Fashion Friday - OOTD

Outfit of the Day

This is what I wore today.

My shirt is a floral print chiffon shirt with a tie in the front from a local store.
My shorts are plain black shorts from H &M.

And although I don't have it in the picture I wore silver sandals that I bought at Payless about three years ago.

Sorry for such a simple post today and about the terrible picture quality, next post will be up on Monday.
